## About Safi Data

Safi Data is a research platform built for Africa. We make it easy to collect rich, qualitative insights from real people through WhatsApp, the messaging app they already use every day.

Whether you're a researcher, brand, NGO, or government body, Safi Data gives you a direct line to your audience: no app downloads, no browser forms, no friction. Just a conversation.

Safi Data was built to give researchers a tool that is:

## Why We Started Safi Data

Traditional research tools were not built for African markets. Survey platforms assume reliable internet, smartphone ownership, and a willingness to fill in a web form — assumptions that exclude millions of potential respondents.

We started Safi Data because we believed that the best insights come from meeting people where they are. In Africa, that place is WhatsApp.

## Why WhatsApp

WhatsApp has over 500 million active users across Africa, making it the most widely used communication tool on the continent.

WhatsApp works on any phone — including basic Android devices — over low-bandwidth connections. It is already trusted by respondents for daily communication, which means participation feels familiar and safe, not transactional.

By running surveys through WhatsApp, Safi Data achieves:
